Katalin Vinczi-Sierra, LCSW
Katalin Vinczi-Sierra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NJ (# 44SC06141600) and FL (#SW20245). She is also a registered Integrative Child Psychotherapist in the UK. Katalin received a master’s degree in Integrative Child Psychotherapy from London Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. Additionally, she went on to earn a master’s in social work from University of South Florida. She specializes in individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Katalin has experience in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, and trauma in inpatient, IOP, and out-patient settings.
Katalin’s approach to therapy draws on extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT, a type of CBT) and trauma informed approaches. In addition to teaching coping skills, Katalin is skilled in helping clients address the root causes of their symptoms, so that healing is meaningful and lasting. Katalin also supports parents/caregivers in furthering their child’s progress in therapy through parent coaching and, when necessary, strengthening the parent-child relationship. She can equip children and teens with practical skills and strategies for managing behavioral challenges and a variety of emotional issues.
Katalin is skilled in motivating clients to change unhelpful behaviors, highlighting each client’s individual strengths during the process of change. She believes that everyone’s culture should be celebrated and empowered. She offers a warm, accepting space where clients can explore their experiences and gain a deeper understanding of how past experiences might contribute to current behavioral and emotional patterns. By virtue of her training, she sometimes uses play and art as a therapeutic tool and a medium to engage her clients.
Katalin has over 15 years of experience working in mental health. Katalin is also an Adjunct Faculty member at the School of Social Work, University of South Florida; and a Per Diem Instructor at the Institute for Families, Rutgers School of Social Work.
