DBT Groups – Learn skills to manage big emotions and build a life that feels better

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals manage overwhelming emotions, improve relationships, and reduce behaviors that don’t serve them. Through a supportive, skills-focused group setting, DBT can offer structure, insight, and change—especially for teens, young adults, and adults who feel stuck or emotionally reactive.

We currently offer a Teen DBT Group and are getting ready to create Young Adult and Adult DBT Groups as well.

Adolescence is an emotionally intense time. Many teens feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or out of control—and they don’t always have the tools to cope. Our Teen DBT Group provides a safe, structured space to learn and practice concrete skills for managing big feelings, handling conflict, and building self-respect.

In this psychoeducational group, teens will learn the core DBT skills:

  • Mindfulness: Be present without judgment and create space between emotion and reaction.
  • Distress Tolerance: Navigate emotional crises with healthier coping strategies.
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness: Ask for what you need, say no clearly, and keep relationships respectful and balanced.
  • Emotion Regulation: Understand and name emotions, reduce emotional vulnerability, and respond with greater control.

This group is ideal for teens who feel emotionally reactive, impulsive, or overwhelmed—and who are ready to make positive changes.
