Karen Looney-Masterson, LPC, CADC
Karen Looney-Masterson is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#37PC00634500) and
earned her Master of Arts from the College of Saint Elizabeth. Karen has a wealth of
knowledge and over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and
adults providing individual and group therapy. Karen specializes in the treatment of
depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, substance abuse, and couples
counseling. She enjoys working with individuals with ADHD and autism spectrum
disorder. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focussed Therapy,
and likes to incorporate art into sessions with children and adolescents.
Karen is warm, energetic, and creative which helps her to have great success engaging
her clients in therapy. In outpatient treatment, Karen utilizes Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), and a person-centered, Humanistic approach with her clients. She has
extensive experience working with women and girls, which she finds very rewarding.
Karen helps her clients to develop the skills they need to manage their feelings and
behaviors, whether it is for anger management, anxiety, impulsivity, or addictive
behaviors. Karen empowers her clients to work through their problems and live a more
fulfilling and balanced life. Clients that work with her feel supported, safe, and motivated
to make positive changes.
